Michael Alexander Gonzalez graduated from the New England Conservatory in 2016 where he pursued his degree in the Vocal Performance program. His passion is singing classical music and he hopes to become an operatic tenor. In 2011 Michael was named a finalist in the Classical Singer Competition and won first place at the Schmidt Youth Vocal Competition. In 2012 he received 2nd place at the Peter Elvin Vocal Competition and was a Silver Award Finalist for the YoungArts competition. He attended, South Miami Middle School as a member of the magnet choral program, New World School of the Arts, and the Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, MA for his senior year of high-school.
He joined the MCC in 3rd grade and remained in the chorus for 5 seasons. Michael had this to say “Under the direction of Timothy Sharp, I was exposed to even greater diversity in choral music. During my years at MCC I had the opportunity to learn new techniques and sing in multiple languages including Swahili. I have great memories of MCC including a summer trip to the Pacific International Children’s Choir Festival in Eugene Oregon.”
