Analy "Annie" Mendez re-joins the MCC after serving 4 years as Program Administrator and Music Teacher for The Thinking Child Academy in Homestead, FL. She has dedicated herself to developing programming that brings joy to children and that sparks their curiosity for learning. “I am a firm believer in working with joy, passion, professionalism, and dedication, all values that were cultivated in my time as an MCC chorister” Mrs. Mendez is a Miami native, having attended Pinecrest Elementary School and graduated from New World School of the Arts. She was a member of the Miami Children's Chorus from 1997-2005. She attended and graduated from The Boston Conservatory with a BA in Music with an emphasis on Voice, and with a Masters in Music Education. She served as MCC’s Artistic Administrator and conductor for MCC’s community choir project from 2010-2014. From 2010-2016 she served as music director for the Heroines Choir of Miami - a non-profit chorus which offers an opportunity for breast cancer victors to heal through the art of singing. She has served as the Children's Choir director at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church since 2013. In addition to her work with MCC, Mrs. Mendez continues to work as a music teacher and choral conductor in Miami-Dade County, is an independently contracted soprano soloist, and teaches private voice and piano lessons.
