Cindy Ellis is a Cuban-American vocalist and music educator. She received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education with jazz voice from Florida International University. She has performed and conducted her ensembles in a variety of venues including the Arsht Center, New World Symphony Hall, Gusman Center, Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall. As a jazz artist, she is frequently featured in clubs throughout the east coast, and is a regular in the Betsy Hotel’s "Mostly Jazz" performance series. Currently, Mrs. Ellis is a full time choral director at Miami Arts Studio 6-12 where she teaches voice and music theory to students ages 11-18. Under her direction, the MAS vocal program has quickly become nationally recognized. Recently, her a cappella ensemble, SoFlo Harmony, was invited to open festivals in Budapest and Rome.
