In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we've moved our programming online with a new project titled Miami Virtual Choir.
As South Florida’s premier youth chorus, MCC feels a responsibility to provide youth with an artistic community and a creative outlet that allows them to develop their artistry and rise to a high level of excellence. MCC has been a champion for youth choral arts in this community and we will continue to find new ways to reach and serve our youth. During these challenging times, we are committed to helping youth stay connected, engaging them in a positive, healthy, and safe virtual family environment.
What is a Virtual Choir?
The closest thing to a real life choir as possible. Students will have access to selected choir pieces on MCC's online portal and will participate in online rehearsals to prepare the songs. When ready, they will be guided to record their part from the comfort of their own at home, and taught how to upload their video to our website. Then, we'll put the video together with everyone else's videos to make the Virtual Choir!
Who can participate?
Miami Virtual Choir is open to all Miami-Dade 3rd-12th grade students from public, charter, private, or homeschool. MCC Alumni can also participate. Miami-Dade County Music Educators are welcome to join our online rehearsals.
When and where are rehearsals?
All online rehearsals are on Wednesdays via Zoom.
3:30-4:30 PM - Elementary School Chorus
5:00-6:00 PM - Middle School Chorus
6:30-7:30 PM - High School Chorus
Is there a concert?
