Allegro
Allegro is a three-part mixed chorus for children in grades 6-8. In Allegro, choristers continue their musical development through experiencing more challenging repertoire and skill sets. Choristers at this level demonstrate a working knowledge of singing posture, effective breathing for singing, and principles of diction, along with an evolving understanding of music theory, sight-singing, and performance skills.
Each week, singers are guided by one professional director, one teaching assistant / graduate student of music education, a live pianist, and a rehearsal coordinator. The ensemble is further supported by a director of operations and an executive artistic director.
Aside from the one hour/week rehearsal commitment, Allegro singers participate in approximately five to seven performances per season. These include our two major concerts (in mid-December and early May, respectively), private contracted events, choral festivals, and public community concerts across South Florida.
Rehearsals: Saturdays 10:00-11:30 am
at the First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables.
Tuition: $100 registration + $680 annual tuition.
No audition is required - Allegro enrollment for the 2026-2027 season is open.
Family orientation is August 29, 2026, and the first rehearsal will be held September 12, 2026.
