Events

Here at MCC we are all about community and family! This season we are offering a series of workshops and events for parents and choristers to connect beyond rehearsals, learn about each other, our community, and our organization, and to support the initiatives we love.

We will kick-off our series with an online Zoom parenting workshop “The Building Blocks of Positive Parenting” on October 6th led by our dear friend Dr. Allison Weinstein.

During the workshop we'll be introduced to the five key principles of Positive Parenting and learn more about the importance of:

*Daily time with your child
*Using assertive discipline
*Letting go of the little things
*Having reasonable expectations
*Looking after yourself as a parent

Dr. Weinstein has over 10 years experience working with children and families and specializes in helping families manage child behavior concerns while strengthening relationships.She is Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Division of Child Psychology at UM's Miller School of Medicine and the Director for The Children’s Trust Parent Club at University of Miami providing evidence-based content to Miami-Dade County families. Dr. Weinstein is also the proud parent of an MCC alum and serves on MCC's board of trustees.
